A dress rehearsal for the Challenge Cup semi-final that will take place in a couple of weeks’ time as Leeds face Hull at Headingley on Friday night.
On this occasion, it will be a case of both sides positioning themselves for a tilt at the Grand Final. Leeds will look to consolidate second place while Hull are probably looking over their shoulders in fourth place having lost each of their last two league games.
Hull can be a streaky side. When they lose games they tend to lose two or three on the bounce but when they bounce back they do so with gusto.
Leeds welcome back Jimmy Keinhorst to their 19-man squad as they continue to get bodies back, but much of the focus will be on captain Danny McGuire in the first game after the Rhinos captain announced he would be leaving the club at the end of the season.
Hull have made one change to their squad this week with Jack Downs taking the place of Brad Fash.
The home side are the favourites but a tight game is expected. The Rhinos are 8/11 but you can get 7/5 on Hull.
Plenty of the handicaps give Hull a four-point start. They are available at 10/11 but some bookies have priced it shorter – and giving Leeds a price of Evens with a four-point deficit in a couple of places which looks appealing.
Nevertheless, one wouldn’t write off the Black and Whites completely. A narrow 1-5 points victory for Hull is 7/1. We’d also look at Leeds to win by 6-10 points at 5/1.
